This is a delicious wine with a forward surge of lemon zest and pine nut flavors. On the palate, there are flavors of citrus, fig, pear, pineapple and a faint underlying hint of oak. Barrel fermentation brings a full body to the entire mid-palate. Notes of honeysuckle and orange marmalade close out the finish.Sangiovese is the color of garnets, a deep and vibrant crimson. On the nose, there are enticing aromas of Bing cherries and spicy white pepper. The palate is filled with the sweet-tart flavor of rhubarb, accented by anise, rosemary and rose petals. The robust, velvety tannins linger for several minutes on the finish, like chocolate laced with red raspberries.
